The Rinx Learn to Skate lessons utilize the USFS Basic Skills Curriculum and offer step by step progress for skaters of every age, level and interest.

Class Description by Age
Ages 3 1/2 - 5 Yrs: Snowplow Sam 1-3 classes are for the very beginner to more experienced skater. SuperStars classes are for the aspiring figure skater or hockey player incorporating Basic 1-8 curriculum for the young skater.
Ages 6-11 Yrs: Basic 1-8 classes are for the very beginner to more experienced skater.
Ages 12-17 Yrs: Teen 1 & 2 classes are for the very beginner to more experienced skater and use the Basic 1-8 curriculum.
Ages 18 Yrs: Adult 1-4 classes are for adult skaters, from the very beginner to more experienced skater.
SPECIALTY CLASSES INCLUDE:
Pre-Hockey 1-2 classes are for aspiring hockey players that have mastered Snowplow Sam 1, Basic 1 or are independent skaters.
Pre-Hockey 3 & 4 classes are for aspiring hockey players that have mastered Sam 3 or Basic 2 and
Free Skate 1-6classes are for aspiring figure skaters that have mastered Basic 8.
Class Prerequisites
Skaters must enroll in the beginning level for their age or next level recommended by their current Rinx instructor on their evaluation. If you are joining us from another program, we offer free evaluations to determine the correct level. To receive a free evaluation, stop by our skating office during any afternoon or weekend public skating session. Our staff will make sure that you receive free admission to our public session and skate rentals for the day. They will have one of our qualified instructors evaluate you at their earliest opportunity.
Hockey 3 = must complete Snowplow Sam 3, Basic 2 or be recommended for class by Hockey 3 instructor, Skating Director or Hockey Director.
Hockey 4 = must complete Hockey 3 or be recommended for class by Hockey 3 & 4 instructor, Skating Director or Hockey Director.
Intro to Synchro = must complete Basic 5 and be enrolled in Basic 6 group lessons or Silver Classes or be recommended for class by Skating Director.
Intro to Ice Dance = must complete Basic 8.
Snowplow Sam Superstars = must complete Snowplow Sam 3 and be 3.5 - 5 yrs.
